19 year-old patient presented with small lower jaw, convex facial profile, misaligned bite, protrusive upper teeth, open bite and crowded upper and lower teeth. The upper front teeth had experienced wear and a lower left incisor needed to have an old filling replaced. The orthodontic treatment in combination with orthognathic surgery corrected the bite and improved the overall facial profile and jaw structure. The upper front teeth were aligned and leveled with reference to the gum margins to ensure that the upper front teeth are restored to their ideal lengths with symmetrical gum margins at the end of the restorative treatment. The lower fixed retainer was shaped as a u-loop around the lower left lateral incisor to allow for her dentist to restore this tooth without any interferences and without having to remove and replace the fixed retainer wire.Acknowledgement: The orthognathic surgery was done by Dr Larry Wolford DMD, Baylor University Medical Centre, Dallas, USA.
