Patient presented with a small upper jaw and a slightly protrusive lower jaw. She had a significant asymmetry in the lower jaw with the left side being longer than the right side. This was displacing the mid-point of the chin to the right-hand side. The orthodontic treatment entailed upper and lower fixed appliances in preparation for double-jaw(orthognathic) surgery with the view to correcting the facial asymmetry, giving our patient the ideal dimension of upper and lower jaws, and improving her bite. The upper left lateral incisor tooth was widened with a composite build-up during the course of the orthodontic treatment with the view to matching the size of the upper right lateral incisor. Due to the incorrect bite at the front teeth, she had experienced significant wear on the upper front teeth. The damaged upper front teeth will be restored to their original dimensions with composite resin by the patient's dentist after a course of tooth-whitening has been completed.Acknowledgement: The orthognathic surgery was done by Mr Manolis Heliotis, Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, 152 Harley street, London, W1G 7LH. https://www.manolisheliotis.co.uk The restorative dental treatment has been done by Dr Gajen Pathmanathan, Chiswick Dental Clinic, Fisher's Ln, Chiswick, W4 1RX. https://www.chiswickdental.co.uk
