The patient presented with chipped teeth and problems with chewing due to an incorrect bite; the upper front and back teeth were biting inside the lower teeth. She had a pronounced lower jaw, a small upper jaw, a combination of eight missing teeth and a misaligned centreline (the middle of the upper two front teeth was 3mm to the right of the midline of the nose and the face).
The orthodontic treatment corrected the bite so that all the upper teeth bite outside of the lower teeth. Optimal spaces were created to allow for four tooth implants. The upper dental centreline was corrected and is now aligned with the nose and the face. This has changed the overall appearance of the face and inspires the patient to smile with pride.
